How I Painted My Kitchen Cabinets

I have been dreaming of a white kitchen and I finally did it!  My dad and my husband tried to warn me that it was a BIG project but I didn't realize until I was a week into it how hard it was!  It took me over a month to finish and a lot of tears but I did it and I am really proud of myself. 

What to Buy Before Disneyland

My family LOVES Disney so we take our Disneyland trips quite seriously.  It has been so much fun sharing this magical place with my littles.  I picked up a few things for cheap to bring with us to Disneyland that ended up saving us money and it made our trip so amazing!

Flower Market Free Printable

Its starting to warm up around here and we've started planting things in our blank slate backyard again!  I can't wait to fill my house and yard with flowers!  I love Flower Market signs and I wanted to make my own vintage looking sign and I'm so happy with how it turned out! 

Office Inspiration Board

My husband has his own office room which is also his escape space from all us females in the house.  I'll admit that it is my least favorite room right now.  There's a beautiful desk from my grandmother and an old beat up office chair and an armoire and that's about it.  I've been planning how I want to decorate this room and still make it feel like the man cave.  Here's what I've come up with so far.

DIY Butcher Block Kitchen Island

This post has been a long time coming.  It all started with a girl that dreamed of a butcher block countertop island for her kitchen and a husband that scoured Craigslist daily for weeks.   I posted about my plans for an island HERE.  When we built our house we had the option to put in an island but the choices weren't what I envisioned for my kitchen so we decided to not put in an island and to make one ourselves.  We were lucky enough to score my mom and dad's old cabinets after their kitchen remodel but it still left us without a butcher block countertop.

Free Easter Place Setting Cards

Holidays are fun for a lot of reasons but one of the things I look forward to most is the FOOD.  On Easter, our traditional dinner is baked honey ham with funeral potato casserole and warm Rhodes rolls!  I've never made place setting markers before but I thought it would add something special to our Easter table.

I don't know what the weather is like where you are but our weather has been taunting us with warm sunny days and then slapping us with cold and windy ones.  Today was a beautiful sunny almost spring-like day and I'm hoping the weather is done being bipolar and the nice weather is here to stay.  Easter will be here before we know it and I made cute Easter egg tags to share with you!

My New Light

In case you missed it, I've been looking for a new light fixture to put in my kitchen for a while now.  I even posted some of my favorites I found HERE.  I ended up choosing a different light that I fell in love with.

Amazon Organization Finds

I'm already in purging/spring cleaning mode.  I'm going through all my drawers and organizing my stuff and throwing out the junk and it feels so good!  I've been on the lookout for different things to organize my girls' playroom and my husband's office especially.  I thought I'd share with you some of the things I found while searching Amazon.

Happy Valentines Day!!  I hope you are getting dolled up tonight for a fun night out with your valentine or enjoying a bestie night complete with sappy chick flicks and ice cream!  I just love Valentines Day!  One of my family traditions is to make heart sugar cookies.  I've made Valentine tags before (see HERE) but I wanted to do something simple and different this year.

Free Jane Austen Printable

 I was an English major in college but I never really got into Jane Austen.  I read a couple of her books but it didn't really excite me.  I do LOVE the Kiera Knightly Pride and Prejudice movie!  The best part is the very last scene when Jane tells Mr. Darcy that he must only call her "Mrs. Darcy" when he is "completely perfectly and incandescently happy."  I've wanted to make a print of this quote for forever and I finally got it done just in time for Valentines Day.

I've been shopping for a new chandelier for my kitchen and I thought I'd show you what I've found!  These ten chandeliers are all from Wayfair.com.  They have a lot of great options that are also not crazy expensive.  I'm having a hard time choosing one.  Which one do you like best?  

Pretend You're Good at it Printable

Okay, I'm going to be real with you.  I try to look put together but I'm not.  I'm almost always late to things, I forget things easily, and I struggle with social anxiety.  Some days I have a hard time just leaving my house.  I'm reading an autobiography right now called "Furiously Happy" by Jenny Lawson.  Not only is she absolutely hilarious but she also writes about things that I've felt but never really put into words.  One of the most relatable things she talks about is that when she is nervous about doing something she will just pretend that she's good at it.

I do not like winter.  It's ok when it's Christmas time and there are Christmas lights and a new blanket of snow looks magical, but as soon as Christmas is over I curse when I see snow in the forecast.  I hate being cold.  There are only a few good things about winter like wearing my boots and cute sweaters and getting cozy in my blanket with some hot chocolate.
