DIY Waterless Snow Globes

I don't know about you, but as soon as I saw DIY snow globes on Pinterest, I knew I wanted to try it.  So I found these cute jars with the red lids and little trees in the Target dollar spot (my happy place) and read a few blog posts about how to make your own and I attempted it......annnnnddd failed.  It said to use a waterproof glue for the trees so I used E6000 glue but I must not have waited long enough because after a few shakes, the trees came loose and were floating around in the water.  On top of that, the water started leaking from the lid and I knew this was just not going to work.  I wanted something I could keep and get out every Christmas and with two littles, this water filled time bomb was just an accident waiting to happen.  So I gave up and came up with something much more realistic.

Free Printable Christmas Tags

Last year I made these Christmas tags for Ella Claire Inspired (see HERE), and I never got the chance to share them on my own blog.  Now that Christmas carols and pumpkin pie and all that holiday goodness is about to start, I thought I'd share my tags with you!

Give Thanks Free Printable

What do you love most about Thanksgiving??  I think everyone has something they look forward to the most on the Thanksgiving day table.  For me it's the yams.  I'm drooling just thinking about it.  Another thing that I love about Thanksgiving is our tradition of going around the table and taking turns saying what we are thankful for.  It always hits me just how blessed I really am.  I shared this printable on Ella Claire last year and I love seeing it in my home around Thanksgiving!  It reminds me just what this season is all about.

Peace on Earth Free Printable

Thank you so much for stopping by here on our tour of gorgeous Christmas Vignettes and Printables!  Got to give a huge shout out to my friend Kristen from Ella Claire Inspired for putting this on.  She's not only a rockstar blogger that creates beautiful, jaw-dropping decor on every post but I'm blessed to actually know her personally and she's the sweetest and most encouraging friend.

I feel very blessed and honored (and okay mostly intimidated) to be rounded up with this amazing group of bloggers. I'm blown away by all their creativity and talent!  If this is your first time here on my little blog, I'll just introduce myself real quick.  I'm Emmie, I'm wife and mommy to two little girls and I love to be crafty and creative.  When I'm not obsessing over decorating our new house, I'm usually drawing or trying to learn to paint with watercolor.

12 Days of Christmas Printable

Last Christmas, I drew this printable and shared it on Ella Claire Inspired but never got around to posting it on my own blog.  My mom has these 12 Days of Christmas glasses that we use every year for our Christmas breakfast and I wanted to recreate the cute illustrations on the glasses into a printable that I can frame and add to my Christmas decor.

Fall Wedding Open House

My youngest sister got married this last month and the wedding was just so dang pretty that I wanted to share a few pictures with you.  My mom made me the designated photographer at her open house.  I don't know how great an idea that was, but it was fun to take pictures even if they aren't near as good as a professional's.

Hutch Makeover

If you follow me on Instagram then you'll know that I started painting the hutch in my kitchen.  The only other time I painted furniture was my bookshelf and I was nervous to tackle an even bigger project.  I didn't plan on distressing the hutch either which was hard because sanding off any mistakes and calling it distressed was SO much easier.  But just because you've never done something doesn't mean you can't, right?  Here's the before picture of my hutch.  I fell in love with her pretty embellished top and her straight lines.  She was a little plain before but now she's a knockout!

Trick or Treat Tags

I love Halloween!  October is one of the best months of the year!!  I'm totally a scary movie watching, pumpkin cookie loving, haunted house fanatic kind of girl! I shared these tags on Ella Claire Inspired last year and I was excited to get them out again!  I love handing out spooky gift bags to my family and friends!

My Patio Dream Moodboard

I love living in our brand new house!  One of the things I was most looking forward to was having a backyard of my very own.  We had grand plans of planting a garden and flowers but the reality was we just had a brand new baby and we didn't have the money or time to jump into it this year.  We did get the sprinklers put in and the grass planted though and I can't wait to work in my yard next spring!  One of the things I daydream about is having a beautiful patio for lounging and barbecues!  I put together this mood board with all my favorite patio things.  I really did try to add some color, but my heart just goes for neutral decor.  Besides, I figure the flowers and plants I plan to have will be plenty of color.

Easy Bathroom Shelves

I'm one of those weirdo girls that would rather buy home decor than shoes or new clothes.  When I buy some small piece of decor, every time I walk by it I feel happy.  These new shelves that my hubby helped me hang up put a smile on my face whenever I walk into the room.  They were so easy too!

Pumpkin Patch Free Printable

Thank you so much for stopping by here on our tour of Free Printables and Fall Vignettes! I've got to thank Kristen from Ella Claire Inspired for including me in her roundup of amazing free fall printables! If you've never been by my blog before, let me tell you a little bit about myself.  I'm Emmie and I'm a wife and mommy to two gorgeous baby girls and I'm totally addicted to all things crafty.  We just moved into our brand new (first) house and I'm loving putting together my dream home.  I'm especially excited now that the holidays are on their way!  I've never had a house to decorate before and it's been so fun planning out our holiday decor.

Double Double Free Printable

I'm a little crazy for Halloween.  I look forward to it all year. I can't wait to get out my Halloween decor and plan my kids costumes!   I put together this printable last year for Kristen at Ella Claire Inspired and now that Halloween is once again on it's way... I thought I'd share it here too!

Miss to Mrs Bridal Shower

I can't believe my baby sister is getting married!  We are 7 years apart, so growing up she was always my mini me, my partner in crime, my go-to girl.  This week we threw together a bridal shower for her.  It was mostly ladies from church so we made it ultra classy and clean (no panties at this party ;) )

Every Love Story Free Printable

My husband and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary last week.  I'm so blessed to be so happy!  Sure, our love story isn't a movie with music playing and kisses in the rain.  It's more like a lazy morning in bed with our two kiddos or a Friday night movie night curled up on the couch and honestly, I wouldn't have it any other way.  I've been thinking of this quote lately and I wanted to design a print so I can look at it all the time and I wanted to share it with all of you!

DIY Farmers Market Sign

When we moved into our new house in January, one of the first things I wanted to do was make a Farmers Market sign.  Call me crazy, but I've always envisioned my dream kitchen with a Market sign.  I've got big plans for our little kitchen...DIY island, subway tile,...etc.  but for now I'm just happy I got this tiny little piece done.  Do you want one too?  Well print off the template HERE and I'll show you how I did it.

Bookshelf Makeover

I've always wanted to paint furniture and this is my first attempt!  My husband was very skeptical when I came home with this scratched up bookshelf that had a slight thrift store smell.  To be honest, I was doubtful too but I figured I had only spent $20 on it and even if it didn't turn out it would be good practice.  I used Americana Decor Chalk paint in Everlasting and Treasure and sealed it with Americana Decor Clear Wax.

DIY Fireworks Headband

Did your mom ever put embarrassingly big bows on you when you were a kid?  Mine did, and I used to die when I saw the pictures and now I totally get it.  Maybe the bows I put on my kids aren't 80's style big, but putting cute things in their hair is sooo fun! I saw this cute tutorial for making felt flower headbands by Something Turquoise (see tutorial HERE) and decided I wanted to make something like that for my girls for the 4th of July.  It's really easy and takes only a few minutes to make!

You'll need:

Red, White, and Blue Felt
Glue Gun
Scissors
Ribbon or Elastic

Start off with cutting out a long rectangle in each color.  Mine is 2 1/2" x 5"

Feathers and Teepee Birthday Party

My baby turned three this week!  I love to put together birthday parties for her.  This year I decided to do a "tribal" theme because I wanted to make her a teepee for her birthday!  Ok, so I had planned to make it for Christmas and that didn't happen, but I did get it out and finish it which makes me pretty proud of myself.  I started searching Pinterest for ideas and then went to my Hobby Lobby for party supplies.

I found these brightly colored feathers at Hobby Lobby and used thread to wrap them on toothpicks to stick in the cupcakes.

Watercolor Roses Card

So, I have this dream of being a watercolor artist.  It's going to take A LOT of practice but I really want to work on it.  I just want to skip the part where I'm not good and get to the part where I know what I'm doing.  So I've been practicing painting roses.  It's probably the most generic flower but it's still my favorite.  I don't know what it is about them but they are really hard for me to draw or paint.  I did finally get the hang of it with the watercolor.

French Herb Botanical Print

I've got so many projects that I want to work on right now that it's almost hard to focus on one and get it done.  I did finally get this one done and I'm so excited about how it turned out.  I love pictures of herbs and plants and I knew I wanted to create my own version for my living room.

Pixie Dust Tag

I've always been a sucker for the Peter Pan story.  My Lucy doesn't quite appreciate the real Peter Pan story yet but she does watch the Tinkerbell movies and Jake and the Neverland Pirates (anyone else with me?!) so she knows all about pixie dust.  I'm working on her nursery (see my inspiration board HERE) and I've got one wall done and I thought a little bottle of pixie dust would look so cute up on the shelf with her collage of pictures.

Adventure Baby Shower

My beautiful sister is pregnant with twin boys!  I grew up with two sisters and no brothers and let's just say there was a lot of estrogen at our house.  These little babes will be the first boys in my family!  We are so excited to meet the little guys.  This last week I went down to Utah to throw her a baby shower.  My sister and her husband love the outdoors and to hike and camp so I thought it would be fun to do an 'Adventure' theme baby shower.

I put together this Adventure theme invitation to send out to our guests.

Nursery Mood Board

I've been working on ideas for my girls' little nursery for a while now.  Right now I just have my toddler Lucy but pretty soon my little Leila will be big enough to share a room with her.  I really love the colors blush pink, grey, and white for their nursery.  I've compiled an inspiration board with fun things I want to add to their room.

I also included my absolute favorite nurseries/little girl's rooms.

Peter Rabbit Print & Spring Blog Hop

I am beyond excited to be a part of this Spring Blog Hop!  I'm having serious feelings of inadequacy being grouped together with these extremely talented ladies and their AMAZING blogs.  So thanks for visiting my little blog!

For my spring printable, I decided to make a blow up page of the Peter Rabbit story.  This little fairy tale has special meaning to me because my grandpa (Papa) used to read Peter Rabbit and other Beatrix Potter stories to me when I was a little girl.  I can still remember being curled up in his lap in his favorite chair while he read to me.  Now, I get to pass that love for these stories on to my daughters.  Peter Rabbit is one of Lucy's absolute favorites and we read it at least once a week

Free Printable Thank You Cards

I'm the worst when it comes to thank you cards.  I forget about it and deliver them way later than I should.  It's pretty embarrassing, actually.  Really, I'm a failure when it comes to sending thank you cards.  One thing that always slows me down is remembering to go out and buy the stupid cards.  Well, I just created my own that are free to download and print so if you're like me and need all the help you can get, this post is for you!

DIY Lace Crowns

Every princess needs a crown.  I saw these lace crowns on Pinterest and had to do it myself.  Now that I have two little princesses, I thought it would be the perfect photo prop for some newborn pictures.  I'm no professional photographer, but I've got to admit that I'm pretty excited about how these pictures turned out! I love how these crowns look and they were so easy to make!

All you'll need:
-lace decorative trim ribbon
-spray starch
-gold paint
-glitter
-hot glue gun

I got the ribbon at Hobby Lobby and the fabric spray starch (the kind that said "Heavy Starch") at the grocery store by the laundry detergent.  After I had wrapped the ribbon around my girls' heads and measured how big I wanted the crowns to be, I sprayed and drenched both sides of the ribbon with the starch.  I waited overnight for them to dry and then painted them with the gold paint.  While they were still wet, I sprinkled them with my magic gold glitter. WARNING: glitter does get everywhere and if you have a glitteraphobe like my husband, he will throw a fit about it.  I think he was terrified a gold sparkle was going to end up on his face and his coworkers would think he's secretly a cross dresser from Vegas.  I decided to press on despite his objections because I think the glitter really makes the crowns and besides every girl needs a little sparkle in her life.

Guest Bathroom Inspiration Board

So, we moved into our brand new house at the end of December and all of our stuff is moved in but our walls are still bare and there may or may not still be boxes in my kitchen.  I'm a planner and I have to have everything planned out before I can decide what pictures should go where.  My house is a huge blank canvas and I honestly can't sleep at night because I'm too busy plotting and scheming how to 'Joanna Gaines' my home :) .  Though it would be easier to be completely in charge of what our house looks like, I know I've got to include my husband in my decisions and clue him in before I come home with my big purchases.   So, I thought this inspiration board was a good idea not only for me to visualize but also for him to see my vision too.

Valentine Tags

I almost didn't finish this post.  I had my baby girl on January 31st and I'm still adjusting to taking care of a newborn again.  But I wanted to post these tags because I worked hard on them and if your tradition is to make heart sugar cookies like it is in my family, then you need cute tags to go with them.

Quirky Love Cards

I like cards that make me laugh.  I hate buying cards but when I do, I spend way too long in the card aisle reading all the funny ones.  Valentines Day is around the corner and I wanted to make my own card for my hubby this year.  I had so much fun drawing the first card, that I got carried away and made 8 instead.

2016 is here and I've got big plans for the new year!  Not only do I have another little baby girl on the way, but I'm so excited to work on my new house and get this little blog of mine really going.  One of my New Year resolutions is to post more regularly and I decided the best way to start was to share with you a FREE printable calendar.
