Love is a Journey Print

A couple of years ago my sister had the most gorgeous wedding.  They both have traveled the world quite a bit, so they decided to have a "travel" theme wedding.  They decorated with old vintage suitcases, stamped crates, and maps/atlases.  It was beautiful and perfect.

Their wedding invitations said "Love is a Journey".  I just fell in love with the saying and had to create my own version.

If you love it too, print off the page HERE.  Each page comes with 4 squares.  Use them as gift tags or glue them to some card stock to create cards.

Hope you find something special to use them for!  Thanks for stopping by!

DIY Playroom Banner

We just moved in to our brand new house the week of Christmas and I'm still in the process of unpacking and organizing but I wanted to share at least one room that's starting to look a little bit put together. It's Lucy's playroom (go figure, huh?).  I was so excited to hang my little banner I made her over her new little kitchen and playhouse.

Let me start off with saying that I'm VERY new to sewing.  I have only taken on a couple of projects so far and I feel very accomplished that I can now thread the needle on the machine and put the bobbin in without looking at the manual.  That being said, if you are a pro seamstress person, don't look too closely at all my mistakes... and if you're like me, well if I can do it, than you can definitely do it too!

First, you'll need to pick out some fabric.  I went to Joann's and looked through all their quilting squares because I didn't need a lot of fabric and the little squares just seemed so convenient.  For my pattern, I went into Word and drew a triangle shape and printed it off and cut it out.

Here's a quick way I cut out each triangle.  I cut out the triangle but left the fabric on the top.

Then I folded it over and cut it out again

When I was done, it looked like this

Now all that's left to do is sew up the bottom and stick your twine through the top.

I used clear thumb tacks to hang my twine.

I love when something so simple has a big impact!  Thanks for stopping by!

Leprechaun Loot

St. Patrick's Day is tomorrow!  I put together this simple printable to go along with any St Patrick's Day treats or goodies you may be planning to hand out to your kids or coworkers.

All you do is print it, cut it out, fold it, and staple it to a ziplock bag.

Fill the bag with delicious treats and goodies (I chose rolos) and you're done!  Great way to add a little Leprechaun touch to your St. Patrick's Day. :)

I also thought it would be fun to add Lucky Charms to the bag or green Andes mints!  So many fun things you could do with this!  Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Wild Woodland Animal Valentines

I know the stores are stocking up on Spongebob and Dora the Explorer valentines, but I wanted to create valentines that are a little more sweet and simple, which is why I created these woodland animal valentines.  I have 8 different cards for you to enjoy.  All of the animals (and arrow) were drawn by me and then edited in Photoshop.

Last year I used these cards as gift tags to hand out with my heart shaped sugar cookies but this year I decided to make them into a Valentine banner to hang in my daughter's playroom.

But why stop there?  You could also cut them out and glue them to a card.  I used card stock from Hobby Lobby.

I hope my little woodland critters help you share the love!  Happy Heart Day!

Aztec Easter Egg Print

Hey!  I'm so excited about today's post because not only do I have a great new Spring printable for you, but at the end of this post you'll find links to 21 other AMAZING  Spring printables!!! We have teamed up to create beautiful spring printables and a fun and simple vignette for your spring decor!

I love aztec print.  I love aztec blankets, aztec pillows, heck, I've even got an aztec print t-shirt. So, when I created this Easter egg print, I had aztec on the brain :)  I  made a chalkboard and a black and white version.  I went to Kinkos and had them printed on my own card stock for about 30 cents.

My friend Kristen from Ella Claire Inspired gave me a great tip on how to make your chalkboard print look more realistic.  Take a piece of chalk and turn it on its side and rub it all over the print.  Wipe off what you don't want and its a "I can't believe it's not chalkboard" print!

I printed mine as a PDF on card stock but I also included a jpeg version of each print.  Did you like the black and white or the chalkboard better?

More Than Cake

If you're like me, you hate to buy cards. What usually happens is I'll stand in the card aisle staring at the plethora of cards till I think I'm going blind until FINALLY I find the perfect card.  It's cute, it's funny, it speaks to me.....and then I turn it over and look at the price tag.  YIKES.  I curse the card gods for torturing me, put back the card that must be made of gold, and go with a cheaper and not so perfect card.  Well, I'm going to save you all the drama of card buying and give you a FREE print that's perfect for birthdays or special occasions.  And you get double the points because it looks like you put real time and effort into this card when it really only took you 5 seconds to put together!  All you need to do is print it, cut it out, and glue it to card stock.  OR, just print it, cut it out and hole punch it and tie it with a ribbon or twine.  My mom used these cards to give with Valentines Day gifts for her neighbors.

The PDF file comes with 4 cards, 2 chocolate and 2 strawberry cupcakes.   You can print them out for all your neighbors or use one and keep the others handy for the next time you need a card.

 Print it HERE

Hope this helps you avoid the next cardastrophe!
